


Meet Dr. Stimson, D.M.D.
Dr. Cary Stimson is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has extensive training in all aspects of oral & maxillofacial surgery and has been a partner of Bay Area Oral & Facial Surgery since 1982. He received his undergraduate degree with highest honors from Arkansas State University. Dr. Stimson graduated summa cum laude from the University Of Tennessee College Of Dentistry where he received his Dental Medicine Degree. He was the recipient of numerous clinical and academic honors including the Faculty Award for the highest overall academic ranking in his graduating class and exceptional academic and clinical achievement awards in Oral Pathology and Periodontology. He was elected to numerous academic excellence organizations in the field of dentistry and medicine including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Stimson served a one year general practice residency at the Veterans Medical Center in Augusta, GA, followed by three years practicing general dentistry with the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. He completed his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Veterans Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey, with additional training at the Fairleigh Dickenson Dental College, New Jersey College of Medicine & Dentistry, and the renowned Sloan Kettering Medical Center in New York, New York. Dr. Stimson has published works in The Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Journal of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology.
He is affiliated with Mease Morton Plant Hospital and is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Florida Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Society, Upper Pinellas County Dental Association, West Pasco Dental Society, International Congress of Implantology, American College of Oral Implantology, and the American Society of Osseointegration.
